Occasionally Ireland has some nice sunny days. We stopped by Torc Waterfall on one of these sunny days. Most of the days in August were sunny than not. Not every picture I have of Ireland is moody though I like the moody ones best because it makes the landscapes so much more dynamic.
This Dolmen was one of the highlights from my trip to Ireland in 2023. I absolutely love all things Neolithic and this structure doesn’t disappoint.
The Poulnabrone Dolmen (Irish: Poll na Brón, lit. ’Hole of Sorrow’) is a large dolmen (or cromlech, a type of single-chamber portal tomb) located in the Burren, County Clare, Ireland. Situated on one of the most desolate and highest points of the region, it comprises three standing portal stones supporting a heavy horizontal capstone, and dates to the early Neolithic period, with estimates to between 4200 BC and 2900 BC. One September afternoon, I took a ferry to Bowen Island to explore it. I have to say that it’s one of the moody places I have been too since Ireland. Just look at that bank of clouds looming over the beach.
I found this panorama picture from my trip to Ireland today and thought that it needed to be shared. This is exactly what it looked like if you just stood and looked out from this view point. Even now I can’t get over how green and dramatic Ireland can be.
This was taken one morning while I was waiting for an appointment. It’s sometime in the early spring when we still have cold nights and warm days. This will often create morning fog on the Shuswap Lake.
Chester Charles Bennington (March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017) was an American singer and songwriter who was the lead vocalist of the rock band Linkin Park.
I took this photo of him in 2012 during a Linkin Park concert in Vancouver. At the time, I had no idea that this would be my one and only chance to see the band and hear them play live with Chester. I’m not sure now that I could even see them without him. Even now I can hardly listen to their music without tearing up a little.
Venice is one of the most artistic and beautiful cities I have ever visited. It was hard to pick just one photograph from this city that I loved the most so here’s a few of my favorites. I love seeing the marks from the centuries of flooding that happened in this sinking city.
